Thanksgiving is Almost here

God is pleased with no music below so much as with the thanksgiving songs of relieved widows and supported orphans; of rejoicing, comforted, and thankful persons."
Jeremy Taylor

This is going to be a wonderful Thanksgiving for me this year! I get to have it with all four of my kids who all live in the four corners of the world. I am so thankful to be with them all sitting at the table looking at all their shining faces.I hope it can happen more often.

This one is a silent killer,
The only symptoms I had was that I had a hard time breathing even though I have asthma and I lost a lot of weight without trying. I think I did have bloating of my stomach looking back and aching legs which I attributed to working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.
The key point, a pap test does not detect it, I know I had one only a few month before I ended up in the emergency room the first of two times.
I pray this never happens to any of you.

First Snow

What a beautiful morning! Our first snow arrived last night and now it is sparkling like diamonds as the sun hits it in front of a blue sky. When I got up this morning a 6am it as only 15 degrees but it has warmed up to 30 now.

I still am cold and wear a bandana on my head with double layering of clothes. Maybe I will burn more calories from the shivers. I don't feel sick though! I can still eat what I want and water doesn't taste like metal so I am doing wonderful, Thank You Lord!

I have started taking photos again since we got a new Nikon CoolPix p90, nice camera. My last one someone stole from us right out of our yard. Several visitors from the neighborhood dropped by to visit and one of them picked it up and took it. You can't trust anyone these days it seems. We think we know which one did it but they would only deny it. We have a much better camera now anyway.

This is my Thanksgiving Catus I nurture all year long for just this one month to see it bloom, Oh well.

Schmap

Well I can tell I haven't used this blog for a long time! I just spent an hour figuring out how to put a widget in my gadget. I found a way to express how much I love the Napa Valley and all their vineyards. They are all so beautiful and have such luscius wines to boot. Schmap map is the bomb.

My friend Puff was so wonderful yesterday. He got to my house a 7 am to take me to my 5th Chemo session. I have to go to Idaho and it is about 80 miles away in the mountain time zone which is an hour ahead of us. We made it there with 15 minutes to boot. He is such a generous man because he had to wait there in a tiny town called Fruitland. For 6 hours I got to lay in bed and sleep as they hook my arm upto all sorts of bags of medicines to get me through to a better life and health. The nurses give me what they call the comfort room. It is a set aside from the large common room where every one lays who is only there for an hour then go.

By the way Puff got his name because he is either puffing on a cigar or a pipe. He is such a awesome friend. I wanted to pay for his gas and he wouldn't let me.

I got through my session fine and I even took a walk with my dog Tusa which means Praire dog in my husbands native tongue. I will do fine tomorrow too but watch out the third day I crash hard.
They send me home with two days worth of these pills that make me feel like I could climb Mt. Everest easily. After that I am on my own the this stuff.

Anyway check out my new gadget it is the bomb!

Long Time No See

What am I doing here after so long I tell myself my story needs to be told is why.

Last June I found out after almost smoothering to death from fluid on my lungs that I had Ovarian Cancer.

  1. It didn't run in my family

  2. There are no exact symptoms to go by

I was flabbergasted but not afraid. I felt the Lord close to me and knew He had my hand leading me through a time in my life I have never been and would not have to go through again once this was all over with.

Well to make a long story short, I started Chemotherapy which wasn't as bad as all the stories you hear about it. Yes I did get weak, no I didn't get naseated, yes I lost all the hair on my body some places I didn't miss at all and some like the top of my head I missed greatly. You don't realize how cold you can get when the hair on your head is gone! Yes I lost about 30 pounds which didn't hurt my feelings at all since I had become a chunky girl!

I did have a radical hysterectomy and was cut from my belly button down till they couldn't go any further. But the cool thing about it is my doctor glued me back together with stuff called megabond. I just have one long line which is disapearing as I type ;)

My hair is growing back now but since I have 2 more rounds of Chemo I don't know if it will remain, it might fall out like the last time. Oh well I don't like it anyway, it grew back all salt and pepper. Me no like. That is what the dye bottle if for isn't it.

I am wearing a wig on loan from the Chemo center, I like being a blonde.
