First thing this morning I had to talk to Steve and let him know what was coming down upon him. I thought I will get him in my car and talk to him while I go out before work and feed my friends goats. I went banging on the door of the airstream at a quarter to 7 and no answer. He was already out walking the streets or in Safeway getting his morning coffee. I crused over to the Safeway parking lot where I was sure he was in a safe place (joke) and found him there.
I rolled my window down and told him to get in the car, I had to talk to him about important matters.
He actually got in which surprised the bajibas out of me. I have offered him rides before and he always turned them down. He new something was wrong by the tone of my voice, I am sure.
So driving out on a cold autumn grey morning I told him what was going on. Oh he was so apologetic it hurt me. It wasn't his fault!
We offered him to stay in our house in what we call the office for a place to sleep. I told him that we didn't want him out side in the cold.
He said he would seek around to see what he could do.
To make along story short:
He loved the goats and had a good time getting out of town.
He cleared his stuff out of the airstream and put it all in our greenhouse and we put his sleeping bag in the office.
I took off for work and told him our door was open and I got off work a 5:30.
I got home to an empty house.
I don't know where he is at but he promised to be at our house on Thanksgiving.
I hope so.

My Heart is Full

We are our brothers keeper.
That is my point of view to the world with all the painful way some people are thrown out with the trash. You know the ones that fall between the cracks so to speak.

I am ranting now aren't I?

In my town which is about 4600 people the authorities seem to have a zero tolerance for homeless people, no matter who they are. That is where the ones that fall throught the cracks come in.
We met a man in our town last summer who was living in the woods by the river because he had nowhere to live. He is a man that has lived in this town for years. I don't know what is wrong physically with him but the doctor said he can no longer work. He kinda gimps around like his back is killing him.
The powers that be are dragging their feet to give him disability so he can have a roof over his head.
Some how he gets food stamps though.
He has nothing.
Not a car and only a few clothes.
All is gone.
He gathers cans with a few other men he knows to get a little cash.
The only problem is they start buying beer and end up drinking themselves silly and staggering around in our alley way. Too much time on their hands.
Oh yes, our neighbors called the cops and told on them.
I don't blame them one bit.
That wasn't suppose to happen!
It was getting cold so we let him sleep in our air stream which is not hooked up to sewer or electricity for a place to lay his head out of the cold.
We told him the old cronies had to go down the street kicking rocks.
To make along story short.
The city planning committee sent us a notice stating that they are aware of an individual staying in or occupying our airstream.
We have to have a permit to let that happen.
The city is just trying to get rid oh him.
People in my town beat up people like these for fun, one did get beat up the other day!
There is nothing in this town to help the needy.
There is nowhere for him to go.
The Salvation Army will give him clothes.
But there is no open door for him to stay but ours.
I get to go tell him tomorrow morning all this.
I really don't know if he will stay in our house or not.
He does have pride and needs to feel independent.
So we will see what he does. We have a spare bedroom he can stay in.

But!!!!!! No more of his buddies gathering cans in our alley and none of them here drinking!!!!!
We are laying down the rules, Oh yeah.

Oh Yi Yi Yi Yi!!!!!

Am I senile or just crazy

I scare myself is what I do! I just saw that had posted about finding my bird. So just look at it like an update. That's what it is. Now I feel better. I can be such a dizzy ditz.
My tummy is full so I am happy and maybe sane again. What did I have for dinner? Since the ole man is out of town and I can eat anything I want to, Oh yeah! No more catering to the finicky eater.
I had Chicken and Rice baked in Mushroom Soup! I love that stuff. Look what it did to me.

It's a Miracle

Sunny is home!!! Yes he is in all his beautiful glory and squawing. "A" went to one of the vets to see if anyone had found an exotic bird lately and a woman was there who over heard him. She said she knew a family that had found a bird. She asked if he was really tame and he said yes. She found their phone number in the book and he gave them a call.
Their kids were walking up the street and saw something colorful in the middle of the road and watched a couple of cars drive over it. They couldn't believe their eyes when they found a little bird sitting there.
The kids picked him up and took him home.
His poor little forehead if a bird has a forehead had a patch of missing feathers so he has a boo boo right now.
I didn't want anything to happen to him again so I had a friend who used to own a petshop come over and clip his wings.
He isn't doing so good without his flight. He is frustrated and kinda depressed. He needs lots of love and patience right now.
It is kinda erie because he is so silent. He will come out of it. I am just glad he is home

It is Important

1.) It is important that a man helps you around the house and has a job.

2.) It is important that a man makes you laugh.

3.) It is important to find a man you can count on and who doesn't lie to you.

4.) It is important that a man loves you and spoils you.

5.) It is important that these four men don't know each other and never meet.

It is a miracle! My bird is back home, I want to pinch myself cause it is so wonderful. My little bird is home!!!!!

I made "A", yeah right like I twisted his arm or something, to take my "lost" notice to the vet's hub bub of lost and found for the pets of our town. He walked in without my notice and just started talking to the pet receptionist about out lil Pepo. A lady was sitting there for what reason I don't know and said she had friends that found a bird and it was at their home. She asked him if it was a really tame bird and he said yes. She gave him the phone number of the people and he called.
YES! They had our bird!!!! Her kids were walking up our street and saw this bird sitting in the middle of the street and several cars drove over the top of it! Can you believe that? As bright as a Sun Conure is? The kids picked him up and took him home.
They never tried to find out whose bird it was but at least they confest to having him.
He was a pretty battered little bird. He has lost alot of feathers and had a boo boo on his head. I wish I had a camera I would take a picture of his injury. But oh no "A" lost that too!!!! Maybe I need to trade him in for a newer model or more classic one I don't know.
I mean "A", not the bird.

Jon,
I am so sorry about you losing your bird to the head. I bet you do miss him. These birds weasel their way into your heart, never mind they can be so tempermental but they sure are loving.

My Dear Sunny Bird

My dear little Sunny is gone, gone, gone. "A" did it. Yes he did do it.
He put Sunny in his cage for some unknown reason didn't latch his cage door. He said he didn't think he would be able to open it. Oh yeah? That's why when "A" jumped up from the dinner table and stomped over to the front door to yell at Sugar to be quiet he flew right out of his cage and out the door.
Know we are kicking ourselves for not clipping his wings.
It was at dusk as I said we were eating dinner. He just went up into a tree somewhere and roosted for the night. We called and called. I walked the streets. No Sunny.
In our town the message board at the one of the Vet's office is where you put notices of loosing or finding animals. That is the next stop.
I loved that bird and he was such a joy.
I pray we find him, or that he is being taken care of by someone else.

Peace.
